Being a Good Neighbor: Fullerton College's Commitment to the Community
At Fullerton College, we believe in being a considerate neighbor to the surrounding community. Our Sherbeck Field and expansive campus serves as an essential hub for athletic, academic and community activities and events. We also recognize the importance of maintaining a balance between campus life and the wellbeing of nearby residents.
While Fullerton College is exempt from city noise limits due to school-related activities, we have taken steps to minimize disruption into the surrounding neighborhood.
What we're doing
Noise Monitoring
The college records and logs sound levels during football games to ensure they stay below 86 decibels (a measurement of sound). Speakers were also adjusted by 60 degrees to reduce sound impact into the neighborhood.
Time of Day
Field events are scheduled within reasonable hours.
Monday to Thursday: 6 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Friday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Up to two fall football games per year may be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
FIELD RESTRICTIONS
Outside rental groups are not permitted to use the field for musical performances or access the speaker system. Additionally, field lighting is not typically used on weekends.

Review Game Schedules
Most events on Sherbeck Field feature football, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer. The full schedule can be viewed and sorted specifically by home games for your convenience.
UNDERSTANDING
Living next to two lively campuses, Fullerton College and Fullerton High School, means occasional noise and activity, but we are committed to minimizing impacts from the college whenever possible and appreciate your patience and support.
Report a NOISE Concern
Report a noise concern by contacting Fullerton College Office of Campus Safety at 714-992-7777 or complete the noise complaint form.
Following a Report
If a report is received during an event, we will take necessary steps to investigate and contact the organizer. After an event, we will review the sound logs and any related data to ensure compliance with our noise policies. We will then follow up with the individual who reported the concern.

The City of Fullerton provides exemptions for noise level standards for school bands, school athletic and school entertainment events, in addition to activities conducted on public parks, public playgrounds and public or private school grounds. Fullerton Municipal Code, Section 15.90.040.A.1 and 15.90.040.A.3).
As a good neighbor, Fullerton College established noise level standards for the Sherbeck Field speaker system through its Environmental Impact Report.
